Looking for special movers – It’s a big move!

I accepted a one year lecturing job at the university in Jerusalem. I will be teaching an arts course and of course, as soon as the movers have disappeared over the horizon, I will be doing a little painting of my own in The Holy City. I am very excited at the prospect of working in this fabled place, so holy and so diverse. I am a modern impressionist painter and the city where everything is built of stone is ideal for my particular painting style. But first things first. Now it’s all about the movers.

I am not the first person to relocate from LA to Jerusalem and there must be many movers who have already done this job. I scour the yellow pages here in Santa Monica and I call dozens of firms of movers. So far no luck. All I get is various forms of apology on the phone. But somewhere out there is a company of movers with this experience behind them.

It took a week of solid calling and begging, but it’s finally done. I got the estimate and signed a contract. We have a date and all that’s left is for me to buy a few new brushes. I hear the art shops are expensive there.
